An exciting opportunity has arisen for Manor and Castle Development Trust to appoint a Health Trainer to join our local community health team. The Health Trainer will work with local GP Surgeries across Manor Castle and Arborthorne to provide them with 1:1 support to help individuals and their families eat healthily and lead an active lifestyle.
Do you have experience of working with local communities and the ability to motivate people to make positive changes with their behaviour? The post holder will:
- Promote positive health and well being messages with local people
- Identify and support individuals to develop a personal health plan
- Encourage and facilitate long-term positive lifestyle changes
- Work within GP surgeries to attract new clients
Knowledge of Manor Castle and/or Arborthorne is essential, so applications from residents within Manor Castle and Arborthorne are particularly welcomed.
We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge and has the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing. Full training is available for successful candidates and the Health Trainer will form part of the wider Sheffield Health Trainer network.
The work is being delivered in partnership with the Sheffield Primary Care Trust as part of the Manor Castle/Arborthorne Enhanced Public Health Programme.
