On 22nd February 1819, 60,000 people watched the first boats travel along the brand new Sheffield Canal.  Exactly 200 years later, it’s time to celebrate!

All activities will be free between 11am – 3pm.

11am – 3pm

Enjoy family friendly activities including time travelling tours with actors bringing the canal’s past to life, craft activities and more.

1.30pm

Don’t miss the main spectacle when the flotilla of brightly coloured boats will arrive into victoria Quays, recreating that first ever journey on the canal!

4.30pm – 7.30pm

Ever been to a canal’s ‘This is your life’? well now you can. Get cosy in our inflatable igloo stage and watch as a giant storybook shows the canal’s past whilst an actor brings it to life. Four performances, buy your tickets now: https://giantstorybook200.eventbrite.co.uk

Enjoy a drink in the Dorothy Pax bar and marvel at the fire dancers on the quayside….
