MCDT are proud to present ‘Matthew lines things up’ the first book in a series of six aimed at helping parents and Early Years Educators become familiar with patterns in children’s play. These patterns, called “schemas“ are a window into how children are making sense of their world.
The book was inspired by children we have known and the fascinating, yet sometimes strange things children are instinctively compelled to do. It highlights the learning that can be taking place when children are playing or as we like to say “ leading their own learning” , as playing is the work of children.
It focusses on how children are playing rather than what they are playing with and can be enjoyed with children of all ages. It can help transforms how adults feel about their children by introducing a new way of looking at what children are doing.
